A group of Internationals and Israelis join Palestinians to help cleaning the rubbles of Al-Farisiya Bedouin village in the Jordan Valley on 07.08.2010. Al-Farisiya has been demolished twice in the past two weeks. and is located in area C and surrounded by settlements, outposts, and military bases, and it is one of many villages that have been declared a live firing zone by the military
Un groupe d'Israéliens et d'internationaux sont venus rejoindre des Palestiniens pour les aider à nettoyer les décombres d'Al-Farisiya, un village bédouin dans la vallée du Jourdain le 07.08.2010. Al-Farisiya a été démoli à deux reprises au cours des deux dernières semaines. Le village est situé dans la zone C et est entouré de colonies, avant-postes, et des bases militaires, et il est l'un des nombreux villages qui ont été déclaré "zone de tir" par les militaires

L'armée israélienne est revenue à Al Farisiya détruire une seconde fois un village d'agriculteurs. Suite à la résistance de certains habitants, deux personnes ont été blessés et arrêtés.
Les habitants d'Al Farisiya, petit village d'agriculteurs situé au nord de la vallée du Jourdain, avaient reçu un ordre d'expulsion de l'Administration Civile Israélienne le 27 Juin dernier, sous prétexte qu'ils habitaient sur une "zone militaire fermée". Le 19 Juillet, l'armée était intervenue et avait détruit les maisons de vingt-trois familles ainsi que du matériel agricole. La communauté d'Al Farisiya avait depuis rebâti des abris de fortunes pour les familles ainsi que des abris pour le bétail.
Ce jeudi 5 Août, l'armée est revenue pour raser à nouveau le village. Les tentes des familles ont été détruites ainsi que les habitations de quatre familles supplémentaires. Bulldozers, armée, police et administration civile étaient présents pour mener à bien cette mission. La zone a été encerclée pour empêcher les habitants d'y rentrer et ainsi procéder aux destructions.
Deux jeunes palestiniens ont été frappés et arrêtés alors qu'ils tentaient de protéger leurs habitations.

A group of around 200 Palestinians, Israelis and internationals demonstrate against the Wall in Bi'lin, on 06.08.2010. This week, there was a strong presence of the Palestinian Communist party. They were stopped by rows of Israeli soldiers on the road who threw tear gas to disperse the demonstration.
Un groupe d'environ 200 Palestiniens, Israéliens et internationaux ont manifesté contre le Mur dans le village de Bi'lin, le 06.08.2010. Cette semaine, il y avait une forte présence du parti communiste palestinien. Les manifestants ont été arrêtés par des rangées de soldats israéliens qui ont lancé des gaz lacrymogènes pour disperser la manifestation.

On July 21, the last day of the Knesset`s summer session for 2010, ACRI appealed to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, warning of an alarming trend taking shape in the current Knesset, which flourished during the last session: the use of democratic processes by the majority, specifically legislation, to hinder freedom of expression, to harm our system of checks and balances, and to violate the rights of minority groups in Israel. 1) Knesset Members Declaration of Allegiance Bill (MK David Rotem, Yisrael Beitenu): Members of Knesset would be obliged to declare allegiance to Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, its laws, symbols, and anthem. The bill would essentially delegitimize and exclude minority groups from participating in Israeli democracy.
2) Preventing High Court from Ruling on `Citizenship Law` Bill (MK David Rotem and 44 additional MKs): This attempts to bypass the High Court as an independent judicial authority with regards to the Citizenship Law, which the Court has yet to abolish.
3) Constitutional Court Bill (MK David Rotem): An explicit attempt to delegitimize the Supreme Court by establishing an alternative judicial authority.
4) Nakba Bill (MK Alex Miller, Yisrael Beitenu): Anybody marking the establishment of the State as a day of mourning (`Nakba`, catastrophe in Arabic, is the term used by some Palestinian Israelis to denote the anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel) will be denied public funding. Such legislation constitutes a violation of freedom of expression in which the majority is attempting to silence a particular political position.
5) Prohibition of Incitement Bill (MK Zevulun Orlev, Habayit Hayehudi-New National Religious Party): The existing prohibition on incitement would be expanded to include a rejection of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state.
6) Declaration of Allegiance for Citizens Bill (MK David Rotem): Every citizen would have to declare allegiance to Israel as a Jewish, democratic, and Zionist state, and perform military or civic (national) service.
7) Acceptance to Communities Bill (MKs David Rotem, Israel Hasson and Shai Hermesh, Kadima): Endorsement of community admissions committees to reject candidates who do not match the community`s worldview.
8) String of draft bills proposed by the cabinet, aiming to limit the opposition`s power in the Knesset, among them: seven MKs would be able to split from a faction and form a new faction, instead of 40 (one-third of the Knesset); increase the majority needed to approve a budgetary draft bill to 55; if a prime minister cannot form a government after a vote of no-confidence, the previous, failed parliament would once again be instated; and more.
9) Foreign State Funding Bill (MK Zeev Elkin, Likud, and additional MKs): A number of strict measures would be taken to limit foreign funding of Israeli non-profit organizations. The bill was strategically designed to target certain organizations of a certain political bent and human rights organizations in an attempt to control the actions of Israeli civil society.
10) Pardon for Disengagement Protesters Bill (MK Reuven Rivlin, Likud, and additional MKs): Though legislation acknowledging the right to political protest is welcome, this particular bill, granting pardons to individuals who were prosecuted for various protest acts against the disengagement from Gaza in 2005, favors a specific political-ideological group because of the Knesset majority`s need to placate its constituents. Instead legislation should be general for all cases in which pardons for political activity are acceptable.
11) Prevention of Infiltration Bill (Cabinet): Among other clauses, this draft law would render infiltration punishable with 5-7 years of imprisonment including those who assist the infiltrator. The bill aims to delegitimize civil society and refugee aid associations.
12) Boycott Prohibition Bill (MK Zeev Elkin and additional MKs): Anyone who initiates, advances or publicizes material which serves as a basis for a boycott of Israel would be prosecuted for a criminal offense and would be forced to pay damages to those who suffered from the boycott. Any foreigner who does so will be prohibited from entering Israel for 10 years.
13) Revocation of Citizenship for Individuals Found Guilty of Treason or Terrorism Bill (MK David Rotem): Citizenship is a basic right and revoking it in such cases would consequently violate other related rights. Israel`s legal system has ample laws aimed at dealing with individuals found guilty of terrorism or treason.
14) Film Bill (MK Michael Ben Ari, Ichud Leumi): Public funding of films would be conditioned on a declaration of loyalty to Israel as a Jewish and democratic state by the film`s entire staff.

Action against building of the Wall in Al Walaja / Action contre la construction du Mur a Al Walaja,04.08.2010

People from Al-Walaja together with some internationals and Israelis managed to stop the bulldozers in Al-Walaja, on 04.08.2010. The demonstration followed a decision by an Israeli court to stop the work of the building of the Wall. Israeli soldiers nevertheless violently attacked the crowd, using pepper spray, dragging and beating people and twisting arms. More than 10 people were arrested. A child was injured in the head.
Les habitants d'Al-Walaja accompagnes d'internationaux et d'Israéliens ont réussi à arreter les bulldozers à Al-Walaja, le 04.08.2010. La manifestation faisait suite à une décision par un tribunal israélien d'arreter les travaux de la construction du Mur en attendant de nouveaux documents justifiants sa construction a cet endroit. Les soldats israéliens ont néanmoins violemment attaqué les manifestants qui s'etaient rassembles autour du bulldozer, en utilisant du spray au poivre dans les yeux, en trainant et gen battant les manifestants et en leur tordant leurs bras. Plus de 10 personnes ont été arrêtées. Un enfant a été blessé à la tête.

Another family evicted in East Jerusalem / Une autre famille mise a la rue a Jerusalem, 30.07.2010

Members of the Qirrish families are seen in the street in front of the door of their houses while settlers bring in food in the Old City of Jerusalem, 30.07.2010.
Around 50 members of teh Qirrish family were forcibly evicted from their homes during the night of the 29th. Their homes were taken over by a group of settlers, who came with the back up of the Israeli police while almost everybody was attending a wedding. When the Palestinians rushed back, they could not enter their homes. Only one part of the compound remains with a Palestinian who was not attending the wedding. There will be a new court case on Sunday.

Environ 50 membres de la famille Qirrish ont été expulsés de leurs maisons pendant la nuit du 29 juillet. Leurs maisons ont été envahies et sont depuis occupees par un groupe de colons, qui sont venus accompagnés de la police israélienne profitant du fait que presque toute la famille palestinienne était a un mariage. Lorsque les Palestiniens se sont précipités chez eux une fois qu'ils avaient appris la nouvelle, ils ont été stupéfaits de trouver les colons chez eux, protégés par la police, et ils n'ont même pas pu rentrer pour prendre leurs affaires. Seule une partie d'une des maisin est restée accessible, car un Palestinien etait resté . Il y aura un nouveau procès, le dimanche.

Al-Ma’sara Demonstration
Approximately 60 people attended today’s non-violent demonstration in Al-Ma’sara. Half of the demonstrators were internationals from mainly Italy, Denmark and Spain.
By chanting and being in the front The Popular Committee members and other Palestinians from the village was leading the demonstration. The internationals followed their lead and chanted along with the Palestinians, showing their support in the fight against the illegal Israeli occupation. The purpose of the demonstration was to reach the Palestinian land that the illegal settlement Efrata and the building of the Apartheid wall has stripped the village of.
As usual the demonstrators were stopped by the IOF on the main road. The IOF momentarily surrounded the demonstrators with jeeps and threw sound-bombs at the unarmed participators;
The Palestinians and the internationals marched towards the main entrance of the village while chanting free free Palestine.
When demonstrators reached the main road 3 military jeeps blocked the road, preventing the demonstrators from reaching the Palestinian land. The soldiers allowed the demonstrators to pass by the jeeps, but immediately blocked the road behind them. More military jeeps arrived in front of the demonstrators, and as a result the demonstrators were almost surrounded by soldiers. Members of the Al-Masara Popular Committee spoke in front of the soldiers, demanding their right to the land that belongs to the Palestinians according to International Law.
The soldiers responded by throwing sound-bombs even though the participators where unarmed and urged the soldiers not to shoot.
The demonstrators stayed in front of the soldiers despite of the sound-bombs, and after a while the soldiers retired. The demonstrators formed a circle and danced and sang. Afterwards a member of the popular committee thanked the internationals and Israelis for their support, and ended the demonstration.
Al Ma'sara is one of nine intertwined villages which are surrounded by the illegal Israeli settlement Efrata, which is a part of the Gush Etzion settlement block. The 9000 Palestinian inhabitants of the nine villages are enclosed by almost as many illegal settlers. In November 2006, Israel began the construction work for the Apartheid Wall on the villages' land, which would annex an additional 3500 dunums (35,000 square metres) if completed. This means that Al-Ma’sara and the eight other villages would be stripped of more than half of their land
Al-Ma'sara is an agricultural village, with the majority of the population relying on the land for sheep and goat farming, and for harvesting crops such as grapes, olives and seasonal fruit and vegetables. In addition to being the village’s main source of income, the land is also Al-Ma’sara’s chief source of natural water. Therefore, Israel’s plan to strip the inhabitants of a large part of this land would cut off their main water supply, thereby breaching international law both in terms of the individual needs of the villagers and of their crops and animals; violating the villagers’ human rights and their income.
Since November 2006, the Al-Ma'sara Popular Committee has been organizing weekly non-violent demonstrations against the Apartheid Wall, the illegal settlements, and against the occupation as a whole. The non-violent protest started as a reaction to the soldiers’ destruction of the grape and olive fields. Whilst in the beginning protestors were able to march straight to the construction site of the Apartheid Wall and temporarily block bulldozers from their work, the protestors are now stopped on the main road in the at the entrance of the village

Un groupe de Palestiniens, d'Israéliens et des internationaux ont manifesté contre le Mur dans le village de Al Masara , le 30.07.2010. Les manifestants portaient des banderoles contre l'apartheid, et pour le boycott de l'apartheid israélien. Ils ont d'abord été arrêté par les soldats israéliens quand ils ont atteint la route principale. Les soldats israéliens ont jeté des grenades à concussion directement sur la foule. Mais les manifestants sont resté sur leur position, et après un moment l'armée israélienne est partie, laissant les manifestants faire une danse à côté de la route.
