Commemorating the Nakba / Commémorer la Nakba, Gaza, 1505.2012

Palestinians commemorate the Nabka, which means "catastrophe" in Arabic, that befell the Palestinian people with the establishment of the state of Israel, on May 15.05.2012. The Nakba refers to the dispossession of hundreds of thousands of their life, land and home in 1948 when more than 700,000 Palestinians - two-thirds of the Palestinian population - fled or were forced into exile by Israeli troops.

Les Palestiniens commémorent la Nabka, ce qui signifie «catastrophe» en arabe, qui s'est abattue sur le peuple palestinien avec la création de l'Etat d'Israël, 15/05/2012. La Nakba désigne la dépossession de centaines de milliers de leur vie,  terre et  maisons en 1948, lorsque plus de 700.000 Palestiniens - les deux tiers de la population palestinienne à l'époque - ont fui ou ont été contraints à l'exil par les troupes israéliennes.
